On friends and family

January 26, 2009

The year 2008 was a year I do not wish to remember.  A lot of things happened and most of them were quite bad.  Sometimes, I envy the characters from an RPG.  When the main character fails to save the princess, he can simply go back to that shiny, blue save point and start all over again.  But in real life when your son dies, all you can do is sit down on the floor, stay quiet, put your head down, and start crying by yourself, knowing that there are no memory cards in this world that can help you reverse time.

On love

January 18, 2009

Some people are darn lucky when it comes to love, and I’m damn guilty of that.

Think of it this way: First love that lasted up until now since 1999.  Fairy tale? Better believe it :)

But I’m not going to talk about that in this entry.  Rather, I’m talking about yours.  Are you one of restless wanderers in the land of loveless oblivion, tirelessly searching for his/her significant other? Technically, I don’t really feel I should be giving advice about love since I’m not married yet, but being in a relationship for almost a decade now, I think I can share a few experiences that might be able to help you find your significant other, save a relationship, or even save your poor heart from breaking apart over and over again.

Why the heck did I make an entry like this? Dunno, maybe it’s cause I’m tired and sleepy? Hahaha

My first foodcraft is…HELLO KITTY?!

January 5, 2009

Who would’ve thought that a big, scruffy, cute, and sarcastic guy like me would end up making this thing as his first food craft…

How to piss off a hardcore gamer 101

December 29, 2008

DESTROY ONE OF HIS CONSOLES! (simple as that)

Yeah, you guessed it.  One of my consoles is sick, particularly the Sony PlayStation 3.  But it wasn’t due to mishandling, old age, inhumane hours of use or even the sun’s ultra violet rays.  But its from the seemingly cool, new trend of how electronic companies stand their ground from the economic crisis we’re facing: DESTROY PEOPLE’S CONSOLES AFTER A SYSTEM UPDATE SO THEY’LL HAVE IT REPAIRED BY US. BWAHAHAHAHA!

Last time I used my PS3 was 5 months ago.  It was working fine and it worked how a souped-up console should work. That is until today, when I decided to play a new game I purchased and had to update its firmware.  After it finished updating, the console displayed a “disc read error” message.  I restarted the console but it won’t read discs anymore.  I tried doing every single suggestion I read in forums (yeah, im not the only one who had this problem.  There were tons of us) but it just won’t fix my problem.  Later on when I tried to sum up all the stuff I read so far, I finally came to a conclusion: The system update’s code will actually cause the PS3’s laser lens to intensify, causing the game to run smoothly for a short period of time, then frying it because of the lens “overclocking.”

People who’re still under warranty had their consoles replaced. But for the unlucky ones (like me), we have to had its lens replaced.  My ps3 is still under warranty, but I bought this in Hong Kong so its pretty much useless since it’ll be more expensive to have it repaired there.

Parting words: If Sony is reading this, for the sake being fair, I give you 8 thumbs of for the quality you’ve provided for your customers since you started in the electronic industry.  But because of this major stupidity of yours, making ps3 owners trust your “official” software 2.41 firmware update, you destroyed not only our expensive rigs but our quality gaming time we reward ourselves after a hard day’s work as well.  So yeah, Sony? SCREW YOU and your new brainless engineers for not testing a firmware update after releasing it globally.  Happy Holidays!

Chrismas Party 2008: Team E’s Harry Potter theme

December 23, 2008

It was a costume party and our team decided to cosplay HP.  Guess what?

I make a bad Draco Malfoy (WAHAHAHAHA!)

   Cho Chang: Expeliar…

   Draco Malfoy: AVADA KEDAVRA!

But hey! Our costumes were great and I’m damn proud of it. It’s not the best party, but it was fun. I even won an original pc game sponsored by our company.  So yay.  Food was good, and it was sponsored by our boss (who’se also celebrating her X3rd birthday).

 More pics:

(From the left: Jules as Hermione, Emili as Cho Chang, and me as…let’s just say I’m Draco’s long lost brother)

(Rein as Professor Severus Snape, after the latter had his first haircut)

(Maybelle as Ginny Weasley.  We’re playing charades here.)

(Kenneth in the middle as Seamus Finnigan)

Showing withdrawal symptoms: missing Jubei-chan, day 1

December 16, 2008

*Makes random slashes in the air while screaming “boomdeyadaaaaaaahhhh!”*

My poor, poor Jubei-chan.  *sniff sniff*

You see, last Sunday, I was watching a TV series when I suddenly felt something weird with Jubei-chan’s disc tray. The ribbon connecting the tray to the rig gets caught when I close it, making it hard to insert dvds inside her system.  I already tried putting tape to the ribbon but it just doesn’t work.

There’s nothing wrong with her.  She’s working perfectly fine, even the dvd drive.   However, being a perfectionist, I want to see her in perfect condition so I escorted her to the MSI service center yesterday, the official hospital suited for my partner in crime.

The people there are professional and kind.  When I told them Jubei-chan’s conditions, they told me that she needs to be confined for 3 days.  There’s no problem about the expenses since she’s still under warranty, but for 3 days just to fix her torn shirt (dvd drives are like that, no? They’re just accessories, but are important)?! I was like “Can’t you fix her now? She’s not even broken; I just need the connector untangled.  Please fix her today; I’ll even pay for the inconvenience.”  The technician kindly agreed, but he told me he’ll still need a day, since she needs to undergo a certain process from the hospital.  So without further options, I decided to have her checked in: in that cold, lonely, foreign place where no one else knows her.

“I’ll be ok, Art.  Don’t worry about me.”

“If they bully you there call me via your wireless card ok?”

Every minute seems like an hour and every hour seems like a day.  I hope its tomorrow now.  I really miss my personal OS.

Jocose and Sassy: My "will get" list this December

December 12, 2008

Yup, you read that right.  I WILL get them, not just wish for them.  That’s because if I really want something, if the price is reasonable, I’ll definitely get it.  I wouldn’t call this list a “wish list” because it will depress if I see something I want but won’t get.

People call it “impulse buying,” but I call it “SSS” (Satisfying the Splurge Sometimes).  In my POV, It’s good to splurge sometimes.  Not only will you get satisfaction from buying the item/s you want, but you’ll also feel good because you gave yourself something as a reward from all the hard work you’ve been doing for the past 12 months as well.  Besides, it’s the time where people’ll get their 13th month pay and if they’re lucky, they also get bonuses (In our company, however, I doubt we’ll have) so go ahead! SPLURRRRGGEEEE! :D

Aherm…so without further ado, here’s my “will get” list:

1.  A brand new desktop computer

Getting ready for Blizzard’s Diablo 3 game, so I’m getting a new PC with these specs:

Processor        Intel Q8200 Quadcore 2.33Ghz

Motherboard    MSI P6N SLI

Memory             Transcend DDR2800 2GB x2

Harddrive         Seagate Barracuda 500GB Sata

Optical Drive    LG 22x Sata Lighscribe DVDRW

Monitor              Viewsonic 16″ LCD

Speakers         Edifier M1350

Video Card      Inno3d 8600GT 1GB SLI Ready x2

2.  Metal Gear Solid 4 for the PS3

It’s been out for a while so the price is cheaper now.  Whoever said “strike while the iron is hot” was wrong about his/her theory.  haha

That’s pretty much it.  I’m not a very materialistic person so I keep my “wants” list low.  Not that I’m saying people who post a lot on their list are materialistic.  I guess I’m just a guy who likes to keep things real.

Yup, I’m back in the blogging business :)

December 11, 2008

But I can’t think of a good topic to write yet.

I should be talking about the Pacquiao-De la Joya fight since I have a few things in mind that I’d want to share, but yeah, that news is ancient to talk about now.

So let me just say, hey guys! It’s good to be back.  I missed all of you :)

Before I end this post lemme just give you a tour to my site.   On the side bar you’ll see scribbles of what this site will most likely talk about, something about the author and of course, my friends who also own a blog.  In the future, I’m thinking of putting in the sidebar an “event section.”  E-mail me if you want to promote something on my blog.

Cheers people! XD
