Showing withdrawal symptoms: missing Jubei-chan, day 1

December 16, 2008

*Makes random slashes in the air while screaming “boomdeyadaaaaaaahhhh!”*

My poor, poor Jubei-chan.  *sniff sniff*

You see, last Sunday, I was watching a TV series when I suddenly felt something weird with Jubei-chan’s disc tray. The ribbon connecting the tray to the rig gets caught when I close it, making it hard to insert dvds inside her system.  I already tried putting tape to the ribbon but it just doesn’t work.

There’s nothing wrong with her.  She’s working perfectly fine, even the dvd drive.   However, being a perfectionist, I want to see her in perfect condition so I escorted her to the MSI service center yesterday, the official hospital suited for my partner in crime.

The people there are professional and kind.  When I told them Jubei-chan’s conditions, they told me that she needs to be confined for 3 days.  There’s no problem about the expenses since she’s still under warranty, but for 3 days just to fix her torn shirt (dvd drives are like that, no? They’re just accessories, but are important)?! I was like “Can’t you fix her now? She’s not even broken; I just need the connector untangled.  Please fix her today; I’ll even pay for the inconvenience.”  The technician kindly agreed, but he told me he’ll still need a day, since she needs to undergo a certain process from the hospital.  So without further options, I decided to have her checked in: in that cold, lonely, foreign place where no one else knows her.

“I’ll be ok, Art.  Don’t worry about me.”

“If they bully you there call me via your wireless card ok?”

Every minute seems like an hour and every hour seems like a day.  I hope its tomorrow now.  I really miss my personal OS.
